This image was taken on September 26, after an early (surprise) birthday picnic with Jen and Dave. We devoured fresh meats and cheeses on bread and a fig cake, washing it down with a cold beer. Best pre-birthday snack ever.

This image was taken at a nature reserve in Connecticut. The tree was a great old “Tim Burton-esque” tree that was beautiful as well as eerie and creepy. I’m not sure why I didn’t get a shot of it further back, but for some reason didn’t feel like it would do it justice.

I’d like to incorporate the tree into something larger eventually– a more surreal image with more painterly and imaginative aspects rather than these quick photography studies.
