			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of my pieces was recently displayed at the <a  href="http://hillelgalleryproject.blogspot.com/2008/10/art-music-wine-cheese-people.html" rel="nofollow">Hillel Gallery Project </a> annual juried show.</p>
<p>It was curated by Brown and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) professors Wendy Edwards and Linda Sormin.</p>

<p>I took this photograph of Colette in the red room installation that I made in the Brown University class &#8220;Hybrid Art.&#8221;</p>
<p>I made the installation with Jenny Filipetti. It was based on the associations evoked by the rich scarlet color of the room: violence, passion, sex, blood, love, hate&#8230;</p>
<p>We brought in a fallen tree from a recent storm and took a drill and screws to it, thinking of the figure sculptures some African tribes had in their villages, into which nails were hammered for various mystical purposes.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve done a series of photo shoots in the installation since then and will be posting more images and video soon.</p>
